Hello all, I am writing this review hoping would help some one else:I had Controlled Comfort come to service my unit. Initially, they claimed to have fixed the problem after multiple calls between the technician and the "boss." However, the issue wasn't resolved. They sent another technician to try and figure it out again. After another call to the boss, he came up with a very unreasonable explanation. The company refused to acknowledge that the first technician had made a mistake and instead suggested replacing the entire duct system.Frustrated, I called a second company and, of course, had to pay another diagnosis fee. They fixed the issue in less than an hour, and the problem was very obvious. It’s incredibly disappointing that two young technicians from Controlled Comfort couldn’t figure it out. Very Saaad that the issue was so obvious. Please be advised when using their services. While I’m sure they can handle basic repairs, I highly doubt they have the necessary expertise for real issues.

Have used this company since 2004, Never Dissatisfied , workmanship is always professional and top quality!! Highly Recommended !!!Unfortunately, good things never last. A couple years ago the blower assembly that forces the air through the burn chamber was dripping condensation from the bottom of the unit. The guy they sent out took the assym out for inspection, had to go back to the office for a gasket to reinstall the unit, also not upon my request pulled the burner tubes out and cleaned them when they were not in need of service, put everything back together and I ended up w/ a bill close to a thousand dollars. I called and complained and was basically in so many word told to go pound sand, that Crescent Iowa was some big freaki'n road trip from their office and might as well have hung up on me........So, my wife did some research for the inducer assym, a little over $300, purchased it and I installed the unit NO BIG DEAL!!!!!! Now I use THERMAL SERVICE and am very satisfied again!!!!!!!!

Controlled Comfort was called to fix a gas leak in our basement. They came and left, claiming it was all fixed. However, the next time I went in that room 2 days later, I still smelled gas. So my husband called them again & they told us we would have to pay for the technician to come out again, even though they never fixed the problem to begin with.We had Sustainable Mechanical come out instead. And they were WONDERFUL! They found 2 obvious leaks that Controlled Comfort missed on the manifold they claimed to have fixed. So an additional $200 later and it was finally fixed.Don’t waste your money on a company who doesn’t stand by their work. What a liability!IN RESPONSE TO THEIR REPLY: You didn’t do anything to resolve the issue! Your manager hung up on me. And you also refused to come back out to test for leaks & fix the problem you failed to fix the first time. Unless I wanted to pay, of course. 🙄

Never use this company! EVER! They came to our house to fix a gas leak in our utility closet but never fixed the problem. Black Hills Energy confirmed there were still four leaks at the main manifold. And then they said we would have to pay full price for them to come back out and fix the problem immediately after they supposedly fixed this issue. Would not recommend. In response to your comment, Black Hills Energy never removed a meter. And this is a completely different excuse than what you made before. Bottom line you were paid to complete a job that you failed at miserably and refused to make right.

I have been using Controlled Comfort to service my furnace and heat-pump for about 27 years now. I recently had to have an entire new system installed. I was told by the salesman, Travis, that I would get a $700 Rebate from OPPD and a $212 Rebate from the local Sheet Metals Union. It has now been approximately 2 and a half months of waiting for those Rebates. After calls a month ago and today, I was told that the system that Controlled Comfort installed does not qualify for the OPPD Rebate, even though the salesman, Travis, assured me I would get that $700 rebate as part of his sells pitch. I'm still supposed to receive the $212 rebate from the Sheet Metals Union folks who don't seem to be interested in timely Rebates. Overall, I have been satisfied with my service from Controlled Comfort.I was a little reluctant to believe the salesman, Travis, when he told me about the $700 Rebate, it seemed a bit like a con sells pitch. I would suggest you request a different salesperson. One other complaint I have is they added a charge of $800 dollars to the system to install a chimney vent. I believe Travis should have included that in the original sales pitch. We have been using the previous furnace without a chimney vent. $800 seemed excessive for that chimney vent for what they installed, and it did not take that long to do that installation - I understand the City Code might have required that now in an older house, but that was another expense that Travis should have included in the original sales.

Controlled Comfort got somebody out the same day our furnace went out. They spent 3 hours figuring out the problem and fixing it. I appreciated the fixed fee for repair/parts.

Controlled comfort dropped the ball on our installation. They installed a rooftop 10 ton unit and got the MUD inspection but didnt line up the city inspection. So a few months later, when we were thinking we would get our final approval, things ground to a halt.I called and Kelly leaped into action once I explained the situaiton. She said the company had been sold after we had our installation, and thats probably why contacting the city was missed. She said she would take care of it. Boy did she.Shortly after that call, I got a call from the new owner Joe. Joe had a plan in place and had already taken action. Within hours, he got us inspected and signed off for our CO with the city.Things happen, mistakes get made. But the sign of a good person or company is how they handle things. CC did outstanding.Instead of excuses, Joe, Kelly and the rest of the CC crew made things right and did it in record time.If you are looking for a HVAC company that walks the walk and takes care of business and thier clients, you found your company in Controlled Comfort!

Showed up with a bad attitude, saying water flooding into my vents and returning air system was not a big deal. Was unprepared didn’t have clean air filters to replace the ones that were soaked from the flood… complained about his job, didn’t respond to my emails and boasted about his new house so he doesn’t have to worry about dirty vents and air systems.Called Burton they are cheaper for the technician fee got out here quickly and showed empathy and care towards my situation.

This is my first year with a maintenance plan from any business. My system is getting old. The two gentleman that did the first check were friendly and thorough. Today was my second check and again, the technician was polite and friendly. If my system runs all winter without problems, I will definitely be a return customer.

CC has been servicing our heating & AC for 16yrs and they STILL continue to provide professional and friendly service:They call every Fall and Spring to remind us to schedule our contracted service; arrive on time AND call ahead to say they're on the way or if there's a delay; they offer to cover their boots to protect our floors; and they complete their work in a timely manner and let us know what they did (inside and outside) and if there are any concerns. Oh, they also clean up any debris from cleaning the heatpump, too.One extra note, the office personnel ALWAYS has been responsive, professional and friendly over all these years. We strongly recommend CC from our WHOLE experience with them.
